MARIAH CUSHMAN, 2022 Mosaic Fellow

Mariah Cushman is currently pursuing an MBA and MS Engineering Sciences dual degree at Harvard Business School and Harvard SEAS. Mariah is most passionate about driving positive impact for people and the planet at the intersection of climate and food technology. She recently interned at C16 Biosciences and supported the growing business development team in their ongoing commercialization effort of their first synthetic palm oil product. At HBS she is on the leadership team of the Food, Ag, and Water club and helped plan the school’s annual Climate Symposium this past year. Prior to business school, Mariah worked at DuPont in both the Industrial Biosciences and Nutrition & Health businesses for 6 years. She began her career in the Field Engineering Rotational Development Program and transferred into a management position for her final two years. During that time she worked as a manufacturing technology engineer producing cellulosic ethanol, an R&D engineer developing and scaling a novel biodegradable biopolymer, and as a continuous improvement team manager in probiotics and cultures manufacturing. Lastly, Mariah continues to be an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and founded the Madison, WI chapter of the DuPont Women’s Network and during her time there! Mariah holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
