He later earned a degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. At the firm, Jamaal was an active member of the National Association of Black Accountants, serving as Co-Lead of the Relationship and Events Management Committee. In this role, he planned dynamic networking, career development, and community engagement events geared toward and driven by traditionally under-supported professionals.
As a first-year MBA candidate at Wharton, Jamaal actively explored how private capital is leveraged to make catalytic investments that enhance opportunity, innovation, and sustainability across diverse communities. Jamaal served on the African American MBA Association’s 46th Annual Whitney M. Young Jr. Conference Committee. As Co-Chair of the Finance Panel, Jamaal planned a discussion entitled, “Doing the Math: Capital + Diverse Managers = Unlocked Value” centered on the burgeoning interest in investing with diverse and emerging private equity managers. Additionally, Jamaal is a Management Leadership for Tomorrow MBA Prep Fellow and Robert Toigo Foundation Fellow. Jamaal recently accepted opportunities to lead on campus as a Wharton Student Life Fellow and Co-Chair of the 47th Annual Whitney M. Young Jr. Conference.
