SOFIA JOHN, 2023 Mosaic Fellow

Sofia is a joint MBA and Master of Environmental Management candidate focused on advancing the circular economy. She is interested in the design of sustainable systems and how finance can galvanize circular innovations.    Prior to Yale, she pursued two distinct careers: high school teacher and business consultant. She taught high school biology and chemistry in Houston through Teach For America. After teaching, she pivoted to strategy consulting at EY-Parthenon in San Francisco. As a consultant, she advised dozens of clients on growth strategy. More recently,  Sofia served as an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellow, hosted by Etsy’s Impact & Sustainability team.     Sofia graduated from Yale College with a B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. In her spare time, she enjoys Latin dance (especially salsa and Argentine tango), vegetarian cooking, and hiking with her dog.
