This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Washington, DC for the 2026 spring semester, with an ideal start date of February 23 and an end date of May 22, and the potential to continue through the summer.

The Impact Capital Managers (ICM) mission is to accelerate the performance of our members and to scale the impact investing marketplace with integrity and authenticity. We do this through our membership association, which today includes 150+ funds representing more than $70B in impact-focused private capital, as well as field-building initiatives and partnerships via our affiliated ICM Institute. Our fund manager members have backed 5,000+ innovative private companies and seek meaningful impact and exceptional financial returns. The ICM network of peers is engaged and collaborative by nature. Membership is selective.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Fellow, Communications & Policy will support ICM’s communications and policy efforts, committing to roughly 6-10 hours per week over a three-month period. The Fellow will work closely with members of the Communications and Policy team to help keep ICM’s network informed, engaged, and aligned around key industry developments, member activity, and policy priorities.
This role offers exposure to strategic communications, member engagement, and public policy work within the impact investing field. The Fellow will contribute to written content, assist with coordinating communications that elevate the voice and impact of ICM’s member network and support policy-related programming. The Fellow will report to ICM staff based in ICM’s DC office.

This role is ideal for current graduate or undergraduate students who are interested in communications, public policy, impact investing, and nonprofit or association work. Candidates should be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across writing, research, and coordination tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the planning and execution of member-facing communications, including newsletters, event announcements, and other one-off or campaign-based updates to ICM’s network
Draft and produce recurring communications such as monthly event roundups and weekly investment updates
Assist with drafting, editing, and organizing content that highlights member activity, new members, industry trends, and ICM initiatives
Manage and assist with social media and digital communications efforts, including drafting copy for LinkedIn posts and other platforms to promote ICM programs and community updates
Support ICM’s policy engagement efforts by assisting with the development of messaging frameworks, talking points, and background materials for members
Contribute to internal coordination around policy initiatives, including member outreach and documentation of insights from policy conversations
Support additional communications, policy, or member engagement tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Current undergraduate (junior or senior year) or graduate student with relevant work or internship experience
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and engaging content for newsletters, summaries, and social media
Strong interest in communications, public policy, impact investing, or nonprofit and association-based work
Comfort working with systems, data, and digital tools in fast-moving, collaborative environments
Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting timelines
Comfortable working with senior staff, external partners, and members in a professional setting
Demonstrated discretion, judgment, and reliability when handling sensitive or confidential information
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a small team
Strong work ethic, curiosity, and eagerness to learn

COMPENSATION & FELLOWSHIP PHASES
Impact Capital Managers has offices in Washington, D.C. and Manhattan, New York City. This role is based in our DC office. We operate on a hybrid model, with in-office days typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Fellow, Communications & Policy may select their in-office days in coordination with the team, although in-person attendance may vary based on team needs. The Fellow will be expected to commit approximately 6-10 hours per week over a three-month period, with a total stipend of $2,000 paid in three installments over the course of the fellowship. The target start date is February 23, 2026. At the conclusion of the Fellowship, there may be an opportunity to continue the fellowship, based on mutual interest and organizational needs.
